Panel Edits O'Plenty cont.
Masuyo has hair!
also notice I have "softened" the panel borders with an invisible box below another box with a one point stroke. Each panel to each page (excluding the original one thru eight) now has the same panel/border spacing and has been updated on DRUNK DUCK

TKMGK Mythology
Doing some research today. I think I may have found what all of the TKMGK letters stand for.
T --THULLAI--
K --KOJIN--
M --MAZU--
G --GAIA--
K --KHRONUS--
Thullai is a Greek air demon.
Kojin is a Japanese Fire God. And the God of the Kitchen.
Mazu is a Tebetan Goddess of the Sailors.
Gaia is a Greek Mother Earth goddess.
Khronus is another Greek God known as the Castarator and the Father of all Gods.
T is for AIR.
the first K is for FIRE
M is for WATER
G is for EARTH
and the last K is the huge SWORD Ayamu must draw from the stone when he has brought all the pieces together for it.

Ayamu Armor Sketch
I'm keeping the Deathlok boots, don't know about the gauntlets yet, but here is a sketch of the helmet, sort of Magneto-ish! and the hair pulled back. I want to have as many iconic moments as possible and one of them is the respite before battle where the hero takes a moment of introspection, prepares the helmet, ties back the hair and becomes ready for death.
Also maybe instead of a random hose coming out of his chest plate we could have a sort of USB port for connecting to some alternate reality computer network?

TKMGK 030 THUMBNAIL
The final page to chapter one. In panel one I have a text edit to include "brood" and three breaks;
"Come"
"Sit"
"My brood are the best healers this world has these days."
Panel Two also has three breaks and I have moved the fourth break to panel three;
"Are you injured"
"No I don't think so"
"I feel so tired"
"all of a sudden"
and have seperated Oraku's text from panel three so that she only says "I imagine so." and then the rest falls into panel four. Also in panel three I'm including a flaming eye on the top of her index finger, a play off of her premonition of their arrival and also Algernon's astral eye in panel six, page one.
I would like to introduce a gradual dreamlike state that progresses between panels four thru six with the big reveal in panel six of Oraku in warrior armor, akin to chapter two Ayamu and perhaps a flaming sword. Warrior Goddess. There are two options here as I can show the two of them on the chapter two island as though transported to the subconscious, OR there can be a stark white background with them both floating and/or falling towards a pinhole epicenter. I think if we play up the reader's absence of knowledge about who Oraku is there can be a slight cliffhang as to who is this "Good Lady" and is she actually good? I'm gonna try to get some drawing done between now and Sunday so feel free to offer up any changes or ideas.

Chapter 2- Ayamu's New Armor Sketch
In Chapter 2 Ayamu is going to be given some new armor. The upper half is Greek-ish. The lower half is Samurai-ish with Deathlok style boots. Things like the belt and necklace and sholuder things can be very microchipy and techno-ized. I'm not sure what that nipple tube is doing there but it seemed to look cool there. Another Deathlok holdover? The red cloak can also give Luc flexibility to draw it just covering everything sometimes, similar to how Miller did with Ronin's red cloak.
We talked about giving Ayamu a Samurai-ish haricut too- and I tried but it just looked goofy. A dude needs dark hair and serious sideburns to make that look work. But Luc, give it a shot if you think it can be done. There's also the possibility of a helmet too. Again, if we do that, I'd like to hybrid a Greek thing with a Samurai thing. But then helmets always block facial expressions, and I'm not sure we'd want to do that either. Well now it's up to Dr. Herbots to make it work like they do in Project Runway. :)
